Meet Tour Companion

One App. One group’s voice.

Tour Companion is a mobile commentary and listening system designed for tour groups. The guide’s phone, travelers’ phones, and a dedicated WiFi device each have their role in local guiding.

How do the three parts work together?

This illustrates how the parts relate; it is not evidence of an on-site connection or audio test.

01

Guide’s phone

A verified guide selects an active assignment, prepares the device, shows a QR code, and controls Play, Pause, and the microphone.

02

Tour Companion WiFi device

The XE300 provides a local network for phones in the same group. Once preparation is complete, both guides and travelers must connect to the corresponding tour WiFi.

03

Traveler’s phone

Scan the Guide’s Live Guide QR, allow the network connection, find the Guide, and join; then use Listen and the speaker controls.

The same interoperable tour WiFi

The local commentary path does not need external Internet

First-time Guide activation requires an online connection; Account Guide still requires online verification. Do not interpret local commentary as meaning that all sign-in, itinerary, and content functions are fully offline.

Phones and hardware, each doing one thing well

Tour Companion, connecting people on the journey.

The dedicated device is not another listening device. It is the tour group’s local WiFi network. The guide first completes preparation for the assigned tour, then travelers enter the corresponding network through the Guide’s QR.

  • 01Before departure, confirm the device’s battery level and readiness
  • 02Use the WiFi that corresponds to the Guide’s tour assignment; do not enter other tour details yourself
  • 03Conduct the tour on the same interoperable network, and test it on site first

Commentary has a rhythm; listening gives you choices.

Play and Pause

The guide starts, pauses, or resumes this commentary; pausing is not ending.

Microphone control

The guide can mute the microphone. When muted, the commentary session has not necessarily ended.

Traveler speaker control

Travelers control playback on their own phones; turning off the speaker does not mean leaving this commentary.

This commentary and the whole tour

After the guide ends this commentary, travelers can keep the tour and wait for the next one; “Leave Tour” has a separate effect.

Confirm these conditions before use.

  • 01The QR-based automatic WiFi flow requires Android 10 or later; the relevant permissions and validation on physical devices are still required.
  • 02iOS Live Audio has not been validated. Compatibility with every iPhone or every phone is not promised.
  • 03Listener capacity, effective distance, latency, and long-duration stability require on-site validation; no untested figures are provided.
  • 04Headphone routing, lock screen, incoming-call, power-saving, and reconnection behavior still require validation on physical devices.
